Algaktiv

Founded in 2015 by three scientists, ALGAKTIV specialises in high-performance skincare actives derived from microalgae. Its expertise combines microalgae discovery, molecular biology, organic chemistry and biochemical engineering, supported by a proprietary collection of more than 150 microalgae species. The company focuses on translating advanced blue biotechnology into well-studied cosmetic actives, with products across its portfolio carrying COSMOS, NATRUE and vegan credentials. ILA Biomarine has worked with ALGAKTIV for over five years, developing its specialised microalgae technologies in the Indian personal-care market.

MC Actives

MC Actives develops natural and sustainable cosmetic actives, with particular expertise in marine microalgae and advanced biotechnology. Its work includes technologies inspired by the natural interaction between microalgae and their surrounding microorganisms, alongside newer biotechnology platforms for skin and hair care. The team brings extensive experience from the European cosmetic ingredient industry. Its biotechnology partner, Microalgae Solutions, has been working in this field since 2012 and holds ISO 9001 and ISO 22716 certifications.
